Riviera Worship Dance is a program choreographed to enhance your child’s physical and spiritual development. The goal is to have fun as we worship God through dance!  

All classes will be involved in worship services at Riviera UMC from time to time.

  • Classes Begin the week of September 29, 2009
  • Worship Celebration at Riviera UMC, TBD in 2010

A donation of $40 per child, per semester is appreciated and used for costuming and other dance expenses. 

The classes are as follows:

  • Pre-K through Kindergarten
    Saturday 10:00—10:45AM
  • 1st Grade
    Tuesday 4:30—5:15PM
  • 2nd and 3rd Grade
    Wednesday 3:45-5:15PM
  • 4th and 5th Grade
    Tuesday 5:30—7:00PM
  • Middle School
    Wednesday 5:30—7:00PM

Below is a requirements list for dancers.  Please read thoroughly as some of these are new:

· 1st Grade and up dancers are required to wear stretchy, workout type of attire to each class.  This includes sweat pants, Soffe shorts, leggings, etc.  Dancers will not be permitted to participate in class in street clothes.  Dancers may leave dance clothing in my closet to change into from week to week.  Please note, DANCERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS IN STREET CLOTHING THAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR MOVEMENT OR SCHOOL UNIFORMS.

· 1st Grade and up dancers must have shoes called Footundeez.  These run about $15 from discountdance.com or you can purchase them from On Pointe which is located on Central Ave.  They must be tan or pink, no patterns please.  No other shoes will be needed.  I think you will like these as they will continue to fit your dancer as her foot grows.  They should last the entire season.  They do not necessarily have to be the brand Footundeez, just the same type of shoe.

· Dancers in 2nd grade on up will have a half hour bible study following dance.  Please pack         your dancer a snack and drink to have during our Bible Study.

· Pre-K/Kindergarten dancers may wear clothing of their choice and do not require shoes for class.

·  All dancers: if a dancer signs up for a performance and misses the 2 class rehearsals prior to the performance, they may not be permitted to perform with the class.  Special consideration will have to be given by Miss Amy.  It’s just not fair to dancers who do whatever they need to do to make sure that they attend class on a regular basis.  This does not pertain extenuating circumstances.
