Prayer Ministry

Is there an opportunity you hope just works out for you?  Kids got you frustrated?  Is someone sick or going through a hard time?   Are you excited about turning a corner?  How is your marriage growing?  Life brings situations that we rarely expect and make us realize we need more help than we can give ourselves.  Let us help you by allowing us to pray with you.

God asks that we bring everything to Him in prayer, and every concern you have matters to God.  You can either call our church office at 727-527-6466 or email PastorMason@rivieraumc.org.  We will share the appropriate information with our prayer chain who will lift up your need to the Lord.  You don't need to leave your name or any other information beyond what you are comfortable sharing.

If you need help praying on your own consider the following model:

Our Father (Write down all the people who care for you, and how they have cared, consider God loves you more than all of these.)

Your Name is Holy (God is special.  You can't buy a little bit of Him at a convenience store.  He loves you, but He is also worthy of your respect, honor, and highest esteem.  How can you respect God?)

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done (Remember how your parents didn't want your feet on their coffee table?  God created this world with a plan for it, namely that we love one another.  How can you love someone so that God's desires are met?)

On earth as it is in Heaven (God has ordered Heaven so that its citizens live as He is.  How does God want you to change the earth so that how we live here reflects Him?)

Give me this day my daily bread (God wants to take care of each need, tell Him what you need.)

And forgive me my sins (No one is perfect, tell God how you have hurt Him or someone else so He can forgive you.)

As I forgive those who sin against me (No one is perfect, some hurts take a long time to heal.  Still, ask God to forgive those who hurt you and to help you forgive them too.)

Lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil (Before you hurt someone else, yourself or God, ask God to help keep you from hurting another person)

For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever (All of our life is to be lived to glorify God.  His Kingdom gives you peace to live.  His Power feeds, forgives and protects you.  How can you glorify Him?)
