“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
As your new pastor, there is so much that Joyce and I have to be thankful for. We feel so blessed to be part of this loving, friendly, and very welcoming church, and we are so very appreciative of all of the wonderful hospitality and generosity that has been shown to us all throughout our transition, from first announcement to well after our initial arrival here in Saint Petersburg.
We are thankful that the move is now behind us, and that we are getting settled in to the parsonage, where so many people put forth such tremendous effort to make it be a lovely place for us to live. We feel so fortunate to be among such a diversely gifted family of God – people who love the Lord and who let that show so clearly to those around them – and we are looking forward to continuing to get to know everyone and to doing ministry together here in the community, and wherever the Lord may lead us.
And finally, we are thankful for the sense of peace that we have had throughout our transition, even in the midst of the managed chaos of packing last minute items, the unexpected delay of the movers’ arrival date, the hustle bustle of the wrapping of furniture and loading of everything into the truck, and then the trip down to St. Petersburg and the delayed delivery of some of our belongings.
Throughout the entire process, Joyce and I both felt a sense of peace that we attribute as coming from the Lord as a result of all of the prayers of all of the people who have been lifting us up, both here at Riviera, and also at our former church in Baldwin. We are thankful for peace in the midst of our transition.
This week, among many other things, I am working to get my calendar set up so that Bonnie can assist with scheduling appointments. I am very much looking forward to meeting with everyone. I want to learn more about you, such as how it is that you first came to Riviera, what your hopes and dreams may be for this church, how you feel that God has gifted you, and where it is that you currently (or would like to) serve in His mission to get out the Good News of the Gospel to everyone around us.
In His peace,
Pastor John Frank ><>
