At Riviera United Methodist Church, we believe that when we serve and help others, we are serving Christ.  As we prepare to celebrate the gift that God gave us at Christmas, we prepare our hearts by giving back to others in gratitude.  We have three ways that you can give back and help others during the month of December:

Every year we help bring joy to children and teens in our area who are in foster care.  Please pick a card off the tree in the Narthex (church lobby) and return gifts to the church office by December 10th.  The cards contain suggestions based on the child's needs and wants, but you are free to shop as you feel led.  We ask that you do not wrap the items.  For more information, call the church office at (727) 527-6466.

church work day

Our church is a beautiful place to learn and grow in the Spirit of the Lord. But it takes all of us to keep it that way!  Now that the weather has cooled off it is time to spruce up the church campus, and WE NEED YOUR HANDS!  Join us on Saturday, December 9th, beginning at 8am as we weed the flower beds, lay mulch, and add some new landscaping to the main entrances.  There will be projects big and small for all skill levels.  Bring gloves if you have them.

diaper drive

We are partnering with several other churches in the community, including First UMC, Pasadena Community, and Allendale UMC, to collect diapers for the Pregnancy Center of Pinellas County.  The Pregnancy Center is a non-profit, healthcare center providing free healthcare to women during pregnancy.  Look for the Pack-n-Play out in the Narthex from December 10th through the 24th where you can drop any diapers you bring in.  All sizes needed!
